Inserting Tool

50.00

This tool is very useful for rebacking and inserting cloth hinges into lifted or slotted board. It is not sharpened; instead the end is a 90 degree angle - this lets you push the material to be inserted without tearing through it. The angled sides also let you move the material sideways. The rounded tip is .150” deep to use as a guide for judging the depth of a slotted board when you are board slotting. The hook part of the tip is useful for cleaning out slots. I thought I "invented" this design, but recently found an almost identically shaped tool for cleaning chain saws from the 1950's. M2 steel. 6 x .5 x .020"
